(And also, Day 5 of my 30-day blogging challenge.)

I’m writing while tired again, oops… That’s okay. Today was a bit of a whirlwind and I haven’t really stopped until now. I woke up feeling a bit under the weather, and so I allowed myself a lie in. I did get back to sleep, dipping in and out of dreams, awakened by my alarm that I kept snoozing in half-hour increments. It’s wild how that half an hour can feel like minutes…

Then I had to take my car in for what I thought would be an expensive visit to the mechanic to do something (Replace? Repair? I can only remember that this ‘something’ was recommended to me last visit) with my brakes. I walked back in the heat; it must’ve been almost 30 by mid-morning and it felt like Brisbane, humid and sticky. The mechanic called later to tell me there wasn’t anything wrong with my brakes; the repair shop had changed hands since my last service, and apparently my months-ago record was too difficult to find after a change in software. Which leaves me very confused. So I’ll probably take my car to another place just to be sure, before Mum and I set off on our road trip.

Mondays are usually the day I work on my own projects, but I had a meeting scheduled with a particular client today, and I ended up continuing his work for more than just the one hour we’d planned to meet. I hate to put off my own project, but he’s got so much work on right now, and the extra income is very welcome, anyway, especially coming into Christmas. I spoke with my Canadian cousin over lunch, as he prepares for his first visit to Australia in January. We’re planning to visit Western Australia together, which I’m really excited about, as I’ve never properly been. The most I’ve seen of WA is via one stressful layover in Perth where I was sleep-deprived and frustrated by the inconvenient reroute home. I think he’s also keen to see the Great Barrier Reef, and of course Sydney and Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road, and New Zealand, too. Quite a bit for the almost four weeks he’s scheduled to be here… But we’ll make it work. With that said, I was hoping to research van hire in WA before bed, so it’s going to be another quick post from me today.

Til tomorrow,
